Dr Malcolm Finlay BA(Oxon.) BMBCh MRCP PhD
Medical Lead
Consultant Electrophysiologist at Barts Heart Centre and Prof at QMUL, London, inventor of several medical technologies, including Epicardio (4D heart simulation) and STAR Apollo Mapping (Rhythm AI). He recently developed “all-optical ultrasound”, a novel paradigm for sensing & imaging for minimally invasive procedures, this will be commercialised by Echopoint Ltd, a spin-out company from UCL. He qualified from Oxford University in Medicine in 2001, and gained his PhD in Cardiac Electrophysiology in 2014 from UCL, for which he held a Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellowship. Outside of cardiology, his interests include aviation (holding a private pilot’s license), filmmaking (straight8.net) and sports.
Vassilios Hurmusiadis BEng MA PhD

PhD turned med/tech entrepreneur, with extensive experience in medical simulation, passionate about developing innovative medical solutions that improve accessibility and reduce risks and costs. Co-invented Epicardio – the world’s first intelligent heart simulator. Bringing together complex problem solving, structured thinking, business acumen, creative and team spirit, creates a unique skills blend that is essential for driving innovation in today’s fast evolving world. Always keen to connect with young med and med/tech graduates, clinical partners and investors. Outside of running Epicardio, his interests include photography and cinematography.
Mr Kevin Sherman MA (Cantab.) BMBCh (Oxon.) FRCS MEd PhD
Educational Lead
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, East Yorkshire. In 2010 Kevin was appointed an Associate Postgraduate Dean, Health Education England, Yorkshire and Humber, covering all medical and surgical specialties. His primary medical qualification was from the University of Oxford. Kevin completed his PhD, investigating the role of Virtual Environments in surgical training in 2001 and his Masters Degree in Education in 2002. Kevin has more than 20 publications on the use of computer technology for training in the medical/surgical field. He has been awarded Honorary Fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons for his contributions to education and training. In 2015 Kevin was elected a Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Daniel Gibney BSc (Hons) ACA
Commercial Lead
Daniel has over 15 years’ experience working as a financial consultant, holding senior positions in investment banks and accountancy firms, advising companies, banks, funds and governments in the fields of corporate finance, operational and financial restructuring. He holds a chartered accountancy qualification from ICAEW.

Company Secretary and PR/Social Media Lead
Elena brings a wealth of marketing and business growth skills having founded and directed a number of online businesses. She has more than 10 years experience in digital marketing and generating sales from social media channels.
